Worldwide, 385 million children live in extreme poverty. Poverty robs children of their basic rights to learn, play and grow. In its ugliest form, poverty can lead to exploitation, child labour and even death. It's unacceptable. That's why the Child Sponsorship Program of Compassion exists. Because more powerful than poverty is the hope of Jesus, the care of a local church and the encouragement of you: a loving sponsor.
We tend to forget though that it is a two way relationship. While we are caring for these children physically and spiritually, they are also praying for us! Watch the video of sponsor children praying - it is inspiring and humbling at the same time.
Using the Check in CBR app is now compulsory when attending worship services or any event held at our premises. Make sure you download the app for your phone and check in when you arrive.
Once a year we have an opportunity to give a love offering to God. It is appropriate that it is around the same time as Valentines day. It is your way of being thankful to God for all His blessings. This year our Love Offering will be on 14th February.
Some say that it should be directed to some project with some price tag, I don’t believe that is what it is about! It is a love offering between you and God given to Him through the church. This is not replacing your usual Tithe but and extra offering on top of what you would normally give. Generally, we give from our overflow, may this be a gift from your heart to God’s.
You can give in the following ways
- Direct Debit
- During the service on 14th February
- Clicking on the payment link to pay via Credit Card
2 Corinthians 9:7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
As we continue to minister in these extraordinary days it is important that we encourage and cheer each other on to continue our primary purpose - to make disciples. Reaching everyone, everywhere all the time can still be achieved online and our message will actually get extra traction in days of uncertainty. Many people have had their security rocked, and our ultimate security is the goodness of God and in our Saviour.
