Our guest speaker is Jill Raey-Smith. Jill lives in Lyons with her husband Brent and two daughters. She works in learning and development for a government department and is part of Redhill Church where she contributes in a variety of ways.

We will be hearing from our guest missionary speakers Yakim & Grace. Their ministry journey started in 2006 when Yakim came to Sydney to serve with a team working with OM (Operation Mobilisation) among Muslim migrants, which was the same year Grace visited a Central Asian Muslim country. A few years later, they moved to East Africa as a married couple with a young baby. They have now returned permanently after ten years in Africa where Yakim worked at a university, Grace homeschooled the kids and later worked as a physio. Their three children had two seasons of being a light in local schools, and they had the privilege of leading a team of Christian workers in an unreached Muslim context. While we have not been Alliance workers, the C&MA Australia has been part of our support team both through finance and prayer, which we are very thankful for.
Yakim will be sharing with other ministries and sister churches here in Canberra during the week.

10am - 2pm in the Mission Centre
On Saturday, August 26, we will be having a time of catching up with friends over a cup of something, a bite to eat and doing something crafty. The afternoon will take the form of a “bring your own”. Please bring a plate of something to share to eat, and your craft work. It may be items for inclusion in our OCC shoe boxes, or items for other mission and outreach work. If you are not crafty, please don’t think that you cannot come or participate. There will be a collection of cards available, for you to write words of encouragement to our mission field workers. Or just come along for the fellowship. We would love to see you. You can come for the whole time or just turn up when you are free.

We will be hearing from the Spiritual Formation students and other ministry groups during the service.
